I need to create a join between two datasets, the join is based on 2 fields.
One field is a string and there is no issues, while the other one has different data types on. the 2 data sources:
in one data source it is a date format while in the other one it is a string with a date time value.
I tried to convert the format or creating a calculated field after parsing the string to date - but it seems that it cannot be used in the join conditions.
Is there a way to overcome this?
I would suggest on dataset B making the conversion in the custom SQL from the the string or on the actual dataset import settings converting it on the Field pain on the left hand side. Additionally in dataset A click add data and choose dataset B (Post Conversion) and it should workout.
Sorry for not mentioning, I am using csv data sets from S3 as my sources.
Per the documentation I have found, Switch to custom SQL is not supported in this type of datasets.
I would love to be proven wrong.
Hey Annab,
Sorry for my delay. When you go into edit the dataset that is the CSV you still should be able to reformat the column from string to date. You can also post in Arena so we can take a look.
