Meet a top Amazon QuickSight Community Expert: Nico Niemann

Since its launch in 2022, the Amazon QuickSight Community has grown into a vibrant hub where Amazon QuickSight data enthusiasts connect, collaborate, and innovate together. Today, we’re excited to spotlight Nico Niemann, whose exceptional contributions have earned him recognition as one of our most influential Amazon QuickSight Community Experts to date.

At the heart of the QuickSight Community are our Experts—distinguished professionals who rise to the top of our leaderboard rankings through their dedication to helping others succeed in their learning journey.

Nico Niemann, Associate Solution Expert at Woodmark Consulting, an AWS Partner, exemplifies the impact one passionate individual can have on our global community.

With over 6 years of data and analytics expertise, Nico joined the QuickSight Community in 2023, quickly becoming a standout contributor and earning his place among our top QuickSight Experts in 2024 and 2025.

A morning routine with purpose

For Nico, participating in the QuickSight Community has become a cherished way of making an impact. “It’s become a wonderful morning activity for me,” he shares. “It’s like a morning ritual with a cup of coffee and the questions from the QuickSight Community.”

This daily dedication stems from Nico’s natural inclination toward problem-solving. “When I see questions that can’t be solved with a simple click or screenshot, I start thinking about possible solutions or workarounds and weigh the pros and cons,” he explains. “This process of working with customers is enjoyable for me and has motivated me from the very beginning to participate in the Community.”

From learner to expert

Nico’s journey with QuickSight began as soon as colleagues introduced him to the QuickSight Community. He immersed himself in demos, YouTube tutorials, and hands-on dashboard creation to understand QuickSight’s capabilities. Over time, Nico began to grow in his expertise and started to see opportunities to give back to the Community he had learned so much from. “When I started using QuickSight, I was able to quickly find answers to many of my questions there,” Nico recalls. “Soon, I realized that there were also questions I could answer. It’s a great experience to contribute to the Community and be a part of it!”

Driving community growth

As a QuickSight Expert, Nico particularly values the knowledge exchange between experts and developers, coordinated by our Community Manager Kristin Mandia. He’s also an initiator of the QuickSight User Group DACH, which serves Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. In fact, Nico is looking forward to attending the upcoming User Group meeting in Munich on Wednesday July 2, where he will connect with fellow QuickSight enthusiasts in person.

When asked about his top reasons for choosing QuickSight, Nico emphasizes three key factors: “First and foremost, the Community is incredible. Secondly, the recent feature release of Highcharts has significantly expanded the possibilities. Lastly, as a cloud-native solution, QuickSight offers impressive performance with great speed and scalability.”
