Minimum SPICE refresh duration

Hello, Our users are concerned with the delay of SPICE data refresh.

I did some testing with the simplest dataset with a single table from Redshift with only 2 rows and 2 columns. It always takes at least 15 seconds to refresh SPICE. Is that expected, how can it be decreased to e.g. 1 second?

@mbp,

Based on what you have seen, that’s the time required for ingestion from Redshift to SPICE for those 2 rows and 2 columns.
If your users require access to latest data and you don’t want have the ingestion latency , then use direct query to Redshift .

Kind regards,
Koushik

Hi @mbp, I would recommend filing a case with AWS Support where we can dive into the details so that we can help you further. Here are the steps to open a support case . If your company has someone who manages your AWS account, you might not have direct access to AWS Support and will need to raise an internal ticket to your IT team or whomever manages your AWS account. They should be able to open an AWS Support case on your behalf. Hope this helps!
