New Dataset Experience - issues with csv data types

I really like the new dataset experience however I am finding it very quirky working with csv files and getting columns to correctly recognize date and decimal data formats.

I hammered on it for hours today, first fixing issues in my source csvs, and updating files in a model with multiple joins and appends… got it fixed just by recreating from scratch, but that was a pain because of the complicated model.

Again, I really like the new experience for a complex model… but if the app continues to have bugs, I will continue to do most of my prod work in Glue.

Curious if anyone else has experienced this.

PS- opened an Enterprise Support case on it and the engineer seemed like it was his first week on the job. (def hit or miss)
