The new data source modeling for file uploads is not correclty parsing csv

I tried creating a new file upload data source for csv using the new experience and Quick did not parse the upload correctly. When I switched back to the legacy experience it worked without issue.

Hello @Kashgar, what exactly were you having issues with when trying to utilize a csv in the new view? I was just working through some of these issues this week, so maybe there is a fix for what you are experiencing.

You may need to change the upload settings for your CSV depending on whether your document utilizes single or double quotes. You can do that by click the “Configure upload settings” button:

Then, you can make updates to how it is going to import the file:

If that doesn’t work, can you provide some more details about the problem you are experiencing when attempting to upload a CSV dataset?

Thanks @DylanMorozowski I did see that option and tried that as well. I think this could be a bug, but hard to tell. I didn’t get an error.

Hey @Kashgar, can you send any screenshots or examples of what is happening when you try to upload? It is a little difficult to debug the error without more information. It is definitely possible that there is a bug, but I have been able to run a csv successfully in the new view, so I think we may be able to resolve it.

Hey @DylanMorozowski , I had questions along the same lines. I posted a detailed question here: QuickSight new dataset preparation experience breaks multiline CSV fields (newlines within quotes treated as new records)

Please check!

@Kashgar (cc: @DylanMorozowski @shubhamkumar.iitk712 ) Was the issue here tied to multiline in CSV similar to: QuickSight new dataset preparation experience breaks multiline CSV fields (newlines within quotes treated as new records) ?

If yes, this has now been addressed. Can you try and let us know if it addressed your use case?

Hi @vignessh.b - I just tested and I can confirm this resolved the issue. I can now use the new data prep experience. Thanks!
