Pixel-Perfect Reports - Email Distribution

Hello Community,

We are using the email scheduling feature of the Pixel-Perfect reports.

We have one Quick Sight account, have 3 different customers to who we provide Quick Sight dashboards.

  • Each customer has a different database and hence in Quick Sight their data comes from their distinct datasource
  • We have segregated access to dashboards by segregating users by User Groups

All these are working fine. Now, with the ability to send reports via email a question has come up regarding Branding.

The customers want to include their logo for the emails being sent out as some of their end-users are outside their organization and setup as Quick Sight email based accounts.

Per my current understanding, the email template can be customized for the account and hence I may not be able to address the logo customization for these three different customers.

What are the possible options to pursue for long-term? We are expecting more customers to be added to Quick Sight and I want to be ready to handle this before it becomes a problem.

Hellp Giridhar.Prabhu,

Thanks for reaching out.
Yes you are correct, the email template is at the account level and doesn’t address your use case. I will mark this as a feature request for the Quick Sight Product Team.

As a workaround, you can consider using the Snapshot Export APIs to generate report content (PDF, Excel or CSV), store the generated content in your S3 bucket and then from there share to your end recipients. This however involves some work as you will be managing the email distribution yourself outside of Quick Sight.

You can take a look at this blog for further details: Deliver Amazon Quick Sight paginated reports to non-Quick Sight users | AWS Business Intelligence Blog

Regards,

Thank you for your feedback! I will explore the option you have suggested.
