Quick conversation / chat retention

Is Amazon Quick automatically deleting conversations now? I understand the 30-day retention policy, but I have multiple chats that I was actively using as recently as last week and they are no longer available in the recent list or via search.
While some of these conversations were initially created more than 30 days ago, they had active interactions within the past week. Is the retention window based on creation date rather than last activity date? If so, this seems like a gap. Conversations with ongoing use shouldn’t be purged based solely on when they were started.

Hi @frihm

Welcome to the Quick community!

Chat agent conversation history in the Amazon Quick web experience is limited to the past 30 days and can be accessed via the clock icon in the top right corner of the chat agent interface.

Please refer to the following community post, which has already similar query - Chat Agent History

could we change to maybe give a warning to users which ones are about to be purged? Maybe have an export feature for the chat? Or a pin option to not delete certain conversations?

Most projects run for a few months; having a project conversation which starts with charter/vision, then BRD, project plan, project communications and status and other associated items available in the conversation with all the context would be great.

Hi @frihm

Thank you for the detailed feedback. These are excellent suggestions, and the project conversation use case makes a lot of sense.

I have tagged this as a feature request to promote visibility to the product team.

In the meantime, as a workaround, you could periodically ask the chat agent to summarize or export key outputs (BRDs, project plans, etc.) to a document before the 30-day window closes.

Note: There is a pinning feature that keeps important conversations at the top of your chat history for easy access.
