I had looked through the Embedding SDK and did see about embedding dashboards or specific visuals. This seems to be used when we want to embed a quicksight dashboard or visual to another application. I am just curious to know if by using API I can highcharts visuals that can have javascript functions or drilldowns added. If so, is there any reference material I can look though. If that is possible, I want to build one of my analysis completely using API as I have a need to use highcharts and drilldowns.
Also can someone let me know how I can check if the Quicksight edition is Enterprise or not?
QuickSight allows integration with Highcharts for creating custom visuals. However, due to security restrictions, Highcharts visuals in QuickSight do not support JavaScript functions, including drilldown capabilities. Specifically, the Highcharts visual editor in QuickSight does not accept CSS, JavaScript, or HTML code input.
To implement drill-down functionality within QuickSight, you can utilize its native drill-down features. This involves creating hierarchies within your data fields, allowing users to explore data at different levels directly within the visualizations.
To ensure visibility and highlight its importance to the QuickSight product team, I can tag this post as a feature request. This helps prioritize enhancements that helps to customers.
To determine whether your QuickSight edition is Enterprise or Standard, you can check this information in the QuickSight console. Click on your user icon in the top right corner, select Manage QuickSight, and the edition will be displayed in the top left corner of the page.
Thanks for the update @Xclipse. I have a need to use highcharts visuals and as well drill-downs so moving to an inbuilt visual is not something I would like to use. While implementation of highcharts is very helpful, the availability of highcharts drilldowns and exporting modules will be a game changer. Clients these days have websites that are very fancy and they are looking for dashboards that are equally good when embedded to their websites.
I have already tagged your request as a feature request to bring it to the product team’s attention.
While AWS does not disclose its roadmap or timeframes, I cannot comment on their plans regarding Highcharts. However, your request is already marked as a feature request to increase visibility. To stay updated on any changes, you can check the What’s New page.
Hi @ramravin,
Since this has already been tagged as a feature request, I’ll go ahead and close out this topic. However, if you have any additional questions, feel free to create a new post in the community.
