Quicksight Bug: Legend Toggle Breaking Automatic Rendering

Hi all - I’m encountering a rendering bug in QuickSight analyses where graphical visuals (pie, donut, bar, line, etc.) do not automatically re-render to the correct size when resized if the legend is turned off. When the legend is enabled, resizing works as expected. When it’s disabled, the visual remains rendered at its previous size after dragging/resizing and only corrects itself after an additional interaction (e.g., adjusting an axis, toggling a visual element, resizing the browser window/resolution).

I’ve found this behavior is tied to the legend’s state rather than the presence of a color grouping. Even after removing the Color field, the issue persists if the legend was previously turned off; however, if the legend was previously on and remains on when Color is removed, the issue does not occur.

Two visuals displaying the behavior are attached below. I’ve reproduced this consistently across prod and preprod environments, multiple browsers (Chrome, Edge, Safari), multiple user accounts, and multiple machines. Curious if others have been experiencing similar issues as this began happening last Friday for me.

Hi @erweinstein ,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I would recommend engaging the AWS Support team to review this issue and assist you. They’ll be able to investigate the rendering behavior you’re experiencing with QuickSight visuals when the legend is toggled off.

Hope this helps
