Refresh button in the dashboard appears disabled most of the times

Very rarely we find refresh button in the dashboard as enabled.

Hi @sohail - Can you please give more details on the problem statement, possibly share a screenshot which will help in understanding the problem ( Please do not share any PII or PCI details in the screenshot).

Tagging @gillepa and @Jesse , @Max for their feedback.

Hi @Sanjeeb2022,

We understood the utility and functioning of these buttons now. Apologies for the confusion caused.
Is there a way to hide these 3 buttons?

Hi @Sanjeeb2022 - It is my understanding that you are wondering if there is a way to hide the “undo”, “redo”, and “Revert to original dashboard” buttons at the top of the screen. This is possible in an embedded dashboard scenario as described by GetDashboardEmbedUrl API documentation, but I do not believe it is possible in the standard QuickSight UI.

Please let me know if this satisfies the scenario you had in mind. If it does not, could you provide more details about the scenario so that I may understand it a bit more?

Thanks @cmruiter . Hi @sohail - Can you please confirm Chris’s point.

Hi @sohail ,

There is nothing like a dashboard refresh button available in QuickSight; there are only three buttons: undo, redo, and reset. (Clicking the reset button is similar to rolling back the original view from the current view.)

The only way to obtain the most recent data is to connect to the datasets and refresh them.

Thanks, @sohail, for highlighting these things. Yes, for a user, it is more convenient to use the Refresh button, which needs to be available in the Analysis area. So a user doesn’t need to go to the dataset page every time for refresh the analysis.

Thanks @Biswajit_1993 - So all we are looking for a refresh option at analysis and dashboard level so that it can help from user experience prospective. Its a good idea and in fact we should request it as a feature request in future.

Hi @Jesse @Max @David_Wong @cmruiter - Any feedback on this?
Hi @Kristin - Just fyi.

Thanks @Sanjeeb2022 yes it is a good point on user side experience.
You can accomplish two things. One is time savings, and the other is increased tool interactivity.
As per my experience all the competitor tool have this in there analysis interface.
