Removing action filters is no longer possible - Most Important Feature

Hi QuickSIght Team,

I am creating a dashboard with three sheets: the first sheet is a summary, and the second and third sheets are detailed. I’ve provided flexibility for the end user to navigate from the summary sheet to both detailed sheets.

Currently, the navigation action filter works fine for moving between sheets. However, previously, when a user clicked on the same value in the visual, it would deselect that value in the navigation filter and reset the visual to its original state.

Now, that flexibility is lost. Whenever we create navigation from one sheet to another, we need to add a dummy filter in Sheet 2 and instruct the end user to remove that filter. This approach is not ideal. Previously, after navigation, clicking on the same visual in the summary sheet would automatically remove the filter from the detailed sheet.

@Koushik_Muthanna mentioned that the navigation action filter is now working, but I’m unable to implement my requirements with it.

Could you please provide a concrete example, including an QuickSight arena where we can see this in action? This would help clarify what needs to be done and what the current status of this feature is.

Hey @Biswajit_1993 !

I have been experiencing some of the same issues with navigation actions recently. To clarify, is the problem that the filters don’t reset when your user returns to the parent sheet?

A workaround that I have been using is to have two sets of parameters. The first set filters the values on my parent sheet, and the second is for my navigation action to the target sheet. It’s not ideal but it allows the users to return to the parent sheet and not have to reset filters.

Hi @duncan,
Thank you for your comment. That’s fine, @duncan. But I feel it is bit complex for the end user.

Thanks & Regards
