Hi, this maybe a silly question but I am not an advanced user of SQL. If I use a custom SQL query as my dataset will the dashboard continue to pull the latest information into the dashboard from the queried I used initially please?

Using customSQL should not affect your ability to pull the latest data. How your dataset updates would be determined on if you setup as SPICE or Direct Query; for SPICE, you can setup scheduled incremental or full refreshes.
