I’m new to QuickSight and would appreciate your help with my case. I have dataset in the format shown in Table 1 below, where the values in the “Title” columns remain the same, but the corresponding “Value” columns change. There will be more columns in the actual dataset, but I’m using just a few as an example.
Is there a way to create an analysis in QuickSight that converts the dataset into the format shown in Table 2? Please help.
Hi @AnilTyagi and welcome to the QuickSight community!
Are you able to exclude the fields that you’d like to eliminate? From the dataset level, choose the ‘edit dataset’ option. In the field list, select the ellipses next to the field you’d like removed for the dropdown and choose ‘exclude field’ (see below).
Let me know if this works for your case or if you have any additional questions!
However, my requirement is a bit complex. My dataset is in the format of Table 1, and I need to create a report with a specific logic. The values in the “Column Title” will serve as the headers, while the values in the “Column Value” will be the corresponding data under those headers.
Thanks again for looking into my requirement and help
Hi @AnilTyagi,
When you go in to Edit your dataset, you can change your column header. When editing, you’ll have a screen like below, click on the headers (pointed out by the arrow) and you’ll be presented with a pop up box to change the name.
