Top N questions at Q Topics

Hi,

Would you be able to advise, please, if there is a way to ask questions with Top N filter (e.g. Top 5, Top 10) in the Topic?

At the moment it won’t work:

Hi @kate.peacock ,

This should work as Topics is generally built for this type of questions. I tested a similar question out in a sample topic, and it worked in my environment. For the error message, I am interpreting that as the Topics is trying to create a calculated field expression based on a potential misinterpretation on your question.

One thing you can try is rephrasing your question slightly. If that does not work, then I would recommend looking specifically at your data and has proper field definitions and the appropriate aggregations are properly configured.

Another thing you can also try is ask another Top N question but for utilize different fields and see if that produces a different response.

Lastly, it is sometimes not always the simple solution but refreshing your page or sometimes even changing your internet browser (i.e. Microsoft Edge to Google Chrome) can at times fix some issues regarding the AI models in Quick. I do not really expect this to be a solution but figured it is something easy that you can try out.

Let me know if any of these solve your issue or what the outcomes are.

Hi @JacobR Thank you for your reply. I guess I have issues due to having so many calculations.

Hi @kate.peacock ,

Were you able to get it working properly? From how I understand it, multiple calculated fields, especially complex calculated fields can make the model not behave the way we want it to. You can try to simplify the calculated field expressions and that can either fix your problem or potentially uncover where your problem is occurring. Additionally, once you start to get the model to behave the right way, I would strongly recommend building out a form of repository of verified questions and answer within your topics. Doing this is almost like you are “training” that model and that can also help with making sure the model behaves properly.

Hi @kate.peacock,

Just checking back in since we haven’t heard from you in a bit. I wanted to see if the guidance shared earlier helped resolve your question, or if you found a solution in the meantime.

If you still have any additional questions related to your initial post, feel free to share them. Otherwise, any update you’re able to provide within the next 3 business days would be helpful for the community.

Thank you

Hi @JacobR Thank you for your help.

Yes, it was due to a complex calculated field, so we had to start using more simplified measures.
