Unable to Determine Datasource for Datasets via API

Hi QuickSight Team,

I am trying to determine the data sources of datasets using the DescribeDataSet API. However, when I attempt to call the API for datasets that are based on CSV files, I encounter the following error:

An error occurred (InvalidParameterValueException) when calling the DescribeDataSet operation: The data set type is not supported through API yet.

Could you please clarify:

  1. If there is an alternative method to retrieve the data source of such datasets via the API?
  2. If this functionality is currently unsupported, are there plans to include it in future updates?

Your observation seems right.

Please see the case below. Response from QuickSight team is that for uploaded files DescribeDataset is not supported.
