We got a request from users that they would like the ability to generate PDF files directly from the dashboard, with the option to selectively include specific sections or components of the dashboard in the generated PDF. This would allow them to create customized PDF reports tailored to their specific needs. Can you please llet me know if that it possible? if not, is there any workaround to achieve it?
You can create different sheets within the same dashboard, each focusing on specific sections or components and you can then export only the sheet that contains the desired content.
Please refer the below documentation this might be helpful for you.
Thanks for your reply! we prefer to keep the same degin of the dashboard instead of publishing serveral tabs which may confuse users. FYI, all the to be exported visuals are on one tab. Would you please let me know if is a feature on quicksight to selectively include specific sections or components?
Hi @Cindy - When you export the dashboard to a pdf format, only one tab is coming in the output. I believe this is default behavior. If you have multiple tabs are there, you have to generate the multiple pdfs. I do not think from dashboard, you can not include a specific section on the pdf export. This can be treated as a feature request.
Hello @Cindy, @Sanjeeb2022 is spot on here. The exporting as a pdf functionality is fairly simple and doesn’t allow for much customization.
There is the export as a pdf within the QuickSight console or the exporting interactive dashboard report functionalities that @Xclipse linked to above. Otherwise, you can utilize the paginated reporting feature which is an extra fee on your account.
