Visualization Table - Group-by-column names

Hi everyone,

I’ve noticed a change in how QuickSight handles formatting in table visuals. Historically, when renaming the GROUP BY fields in a table, the UI would display the actual field names, allowing for easy renaming.

However, recently, it shows the text “TITLE” instead of listing the individual field names where you would normally rename them.

Value column names work as expected.

Is this a known issue currently? Or is this expected behavior now due to some recent update or change in how QuickSight handles tables?

Thanks in advance.

Hi @psherman42,
Interesting, I just tested in a couple different environments and do not seem to be encountering the same behavior. The fields I placed in the ‘Group By’ section are showing up when I go to format:

How many fields do you have added to the ‘Group By’ section of the visual? Is there anything unique about the fields or are they directly from a dataset?

Great question. When it first happened a few days ago the table had 8 fields. I thought it was a fluke, then today I noticed it was still behaving the same way. I then tried 1 field tables with the same result.

Pivot Tables are not affected.

It’s back to normal now, perhaps it was some in-between versioning. Solved.
