Hi everyone,
I’m currently using Amazon Quick Suite with a Knowledge Base that syncs documents from SharePoint via an Integration connector. Recently, I encountered the following error message:
“You have reached the current knowledge base extracted text capacity of 500 MB. Contact your admin to increase the knowledge base limit.”
I have a few questions regarding this limit:
-
Is the 500 MB extracted text limit applied per individual Knowledge Base, or is it a cumulative limit across all Knowledge Bases under my account/organization?
-
If it’s per Knowledge Base, is there a way to increase this limit beyond 500 MB? What is the maximum allowed? The following is my knowledge base FYI: https://us-east-1.quicksight.aws.amazon.com/sn/account/amazonbi/unstructured-dataset/bad9b689-919c-4411-bc53-025ce833e072/view?tab=refresh-report
-
What is the recommended approach when a Knowledge Base needs to index a large number of documents (e.g., 7,000+ PDFs synced from SharePoint)? Should we split them into multiple Knowledge Bases?
-
Is there any documentation that describes the capacity limits for Knowledge Bases in detail?
Any guidance from the community or the Quick Suite team would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Hi @yaotinl
Welcome to the Quick Suite community!
Standard text documents, applies to documents like PDFs, Word files, and text files. File size limit is 500 MB.
For 7,000+ PDFs from SharePoint, split them into multiple Knowledge Bases organized by topic, department, or use case to optimize retrieval relevance and access controls, as all still share the index capacity.
I would recommend filing a case with AWS Support will help to check and increase the capacity limits. Here are the steps to open a support case. If your company has someone who manages your AWS account, you might not have direct access to AWS Support and will need to raise an internal ticket to your IT team or whomever manages your AWS account. They should be able to open an AWS Support case on your behalf. Hope this helps!
Please refer to the following documentation this might be helpful for you.
