I am creating a horizontal bar chart to depict a range of values Value +/- error (Mainly because Quicksight does not have the capability to add error bars - different story)
In order to dynamically display the chart within a sensible range i have calculated buffers in the positive and negative which I will hide (or fill with white - another shortcoming) and then set the range of the x-axis to be auto-based on chart values - so far so good
HOWEVER. When I add a reference line to depict the centre of my range, the minimum value of the chart defaults to the reference line, not the minimum value. I can add more reference lines but this seems like a bug, unless i am doing something wrong
Hello @j_j_Ramsay, this is definitely odd functionality. Does it make any difference if you utilize a calculated line rather than a staticly defined line, or is the end result the same?
The alternative option would be to utilize the custom range to set your minimum and maximum values, but that would only work if your values remain within a specific range. Does the data that displays on this chart in your dashboard vary wildly or would hard coding those values be an option?
Hello @j_j_Ramsay, are you able to follow-up with some more information about this issue based on the questions I asked above? If we do not hear back form you in 3 days, I will archive this topic. Thank you!
