Brackets around numbers

Hi,
I’m trying to understand why sometimes brackets are added around values in tables.
Also they can appear in a graph and create a strange layout.
I have attached images below.
Could anyone explain this to me I have tried to find anything in the documentation but with no success. I may have missed it.

i would say, the numbers are negativ!

Thanks @ErikG for the details. This is something new I learned today, so negative numbers are presented in brackets in QuickSight.
