Can the end users change the language used in the Dashboard? Eg: From English to Spanish?

Can the end users view the dashboard in whatever language they like? Or it depends on what language the author of the dashboard uses while publishing it?

Hi Anita,

yes, end users can change their language, see the link for additional details Choosing a language in Amazon QuickSight - Amazon QuickSight

Hi Deepak, Thanks for your response. The information in the link you shared is for the author of the dashboards. How about the customers who look at our dashboard after we provision it to them? That interface is not necessarily a quicksight interface.

Hi Anita,
I logged in as a QuickSight reader user and was able to change my language settings in QuickSight console, not necessarily an author user. That said, what is your use case scenario - is QuickSight deployed as an embedded dashboard in another application, and users have reader access to dashboard. If that is the case, then the language selection in console won’t carry over to embedding and parent SaaS application has full control of the settings to be used for embedding and can set the locale as desired. See sample code at GitHub - awslabs/amazon-quicksight-embedding-sdk: A SDK to help users embed QuickSight dashboards on other pages.

Thank you Deepak! This is helpful.

Are you trying to localize QuickSight user interface (menu items, button texts etc) or the content of the dashboard itself (such as titles of the visuals within the dashboard)?

Hi Tatyana,

We are trying to localize the user interface options only not the content of the dashboard.

For embedded dashboards you can pass the language parameters to change the user interface language.
