I am looking at lots of data, sometimes in the millions per month and when graphing, sometimes the factors for the Y axis are in k or (thousands) and other times they are in M (millions), so when looking at similar data at the for the same period but there are filters to take out certain metrics, the Y axis values do not change. It is very frustrating when presenting that people are confused my the two and decimal numbers.

In the analysis mode, select the bar chart to make it active and then select the Pencil icon on the menu on the top right of the visual. This will open the Properties of the visual on the left. You have some control over the Y-axis such as setting the range always from 0, based upon the data or you can manual control the range. You also have control over the step values. Screenshot shows properties of Y-axis for the bar chart. Hope that helps!
