Connecting a Flow to Asana to pull project statuses

Hello,

Every month we need to create an MBR from 33 projects managed in Asana. I can successfully connect to the projects but the flow pulls data from the project tasks. I want to pull the information from the latest status update of the project, not the task progress.

HI @paumacke in Quick when interacting with actions it’s best to determine what the capabilities of the tools are. e.g. How much data they can extract, what parameters and filters are available to them, in addition to which way to call them. I briefly talk about it in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1EeAti4K8gM. I also use the Flows Design Consultant to help build Flows: Workshop Studio . It will help guide you through some of the behaviors.

One thing to keep in mind is your context window and how much data can be pulled into a specific step, in addition to, how you carry that information from one step to another. Managing your context window and data will help you get more relevant and consistent results. I like to share this video for help: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-QVoIxEpFkM. Very easy to follow.

For some concrete advice try the following prompt and learn about the parameters:
”What data does the List All Tasks tool in Asasna return and what parameters do I use to filter or fetch data?”

Thanks ill check this out today to see, Im not sure that the question has been fully grasped though. I can connect to Asana, I can pull task information - What i cant do is pull the status update?

Its knowing how to do that which is the challenge. Can the Flow in QS, with prompting or otherwise pull the latest status in a project. Singular will do for now, ill get to the 33 once i can manage to do it once.

Hi @paumacke,

Just checking back in since there has not been much activity here in a bit. I wanted to see if the guidance shared earlier helped resolve your question, or if you found a solution in the meantime.

If you still have any additional questions related to your initial post, feel free to share them. Otherwise, any update you’re able to provide within the next 3 business days would be helpful for the community.

Thank you
