Essentially, I want to be able to count how many new records were added during a filtered timeframe. My dataset has two dates, the first date field is calendar_date, which is just a historical date range used to filter for active records going back to 2018. The other field is created_date, which identifies when a record was added to our dataset. I want the ability to filter the calendar_date field and have the data for a particular visual filter to only display record with created_dates that fall within the selected calender_date range. For instance, if I filter the calendar_date for January 1, 2025 - February 28, 2025, I want to only see records with created_dates that fall within that range. This will allow us to see a count of how many records were added during the selected timeframe.
Hi @mac234998 and welcome to the QuickSight community!
You can accomplish this through the use of parameters.
Start off by creating parameters for your start and end dates respectively. You can link them up to your ‘calendar date range’ field.
Then setup a filter for your ‘created_dates’ field that is ‘between’ your start and end date parameters:
Let me know if you have any additional questions!
Hi @mac234998, welcome to the QuickSight Community!
If you create filters for both calendar_date and created_date, and use the common start date and end date for those filters, does it address your needs?
Please let me know if I misunderstood problem.
