I have published new visuals in my dashboard, and can still see them in the Analysis. However, the published changes show up when I am first redirected to the dashboard, but when I visit the link again through my saved bookmark, the link takes me back to the previous version without my newly added visuals.
When I copy the link for the new published dashboard, I can see my new visuals. however, if i visit the dashboard through a saved link, I do not see those visuals.

Why am I seeing two versions of my dashboard? Please assist. I need to make sure all of my users can see the new changes.
My ânewâ link that I get from the copy link button in the âshareâ page of the dashboard, doesnât allow other users to open unless we explicitly share the dashboard with them in the permissions. However, the dashboard should be accessble to the field, meaning anyone in the âalpacaâ quicksight account. How is it that they can see the dashboard normally, but canât see this new version/link (that contains the visuals I want published)?
When i seach up âloads executionâ in Quicksight, I see two different versions of this dashboard. Even tho, I published to replace, not published as new. What is going on here? Should I be deleting one of these?
Hi @Kelly_Cooper ,
Can you kindly confirm if you have re-published existing dashboard while making changes? From the links you shared, I see both the dashboard ids are different. If you do not re-publish on the existing dashboard, instead publish a new dashboard, access needs to granted afresh and bookmarks also wont get updated with new dashboard.
Also, a quick word of caution, since this is public forum, please hide sensitive information like AWS account number from the links shared!
Thanks,
Prantika
I only see one option for âreplacing an existing dashboardâ, how can I choose to replace the original dashboard instead of this branched off version?
Do you see the original dashboard as an option under replacing an existing dashboard ?
If yes, then you can select that and republish.
If no, there can be 2 reasons :
- Do you have co-owner permission to the original dashboard that can allow you to publish replacing the existing original dashboard?
- Are you using the same analysis to make changes that sources the original version?
Did this solution work for you? I am marking this reply as, âSolution,â but let us know if this is not resolved. Thanks for posting your questions on the QuickSight Community!
Yes this solution worked! Turns out I only had permissions to publish to the ânewâ version of the dashboard and not the one in production. There were two dashboards with the same name and different web addresses. We published to correct one and deleted the other version.
