I have created this Chat assistant and the issue here is its giving persistently incorrect responses for some calculations, despite adding the formula and calculation methodology its unable to process the same and sometimes does not pull the correct data from the linked dashboard. Can anyone please help on how do i resolve this
Hi @higoel and welcome to the Quick Suite Community!
What type of calculations are you testing out that it’s presenting incorrectly, are you trying to build calculated fields?
I’ve noticed as well that the chat agent struggles to assist with calc. field or errors linked to them.
In regards to how it links to a dashboard. A small note to remember with this, the chat agents can only pull data from fields being used in visualizations of a published dashboard. So let’s say you have 2 fields not being used in any visuals, and you ask a question to run a calculation involving those fields, it will not be able to complete (at least from my testing experience - I received a response once that mentioned fields need to be utilized in visuals to refer to them).
One work around that helped me with this though, instead of connecting a dashboard, I created a Topic for my dataset (with very little clean up..just made sure that all fields were included in the topic). You can then refer to the Topic in the chat agent and I was able to run more calculations/use fields that were not in my visuals originally.
Hi @higoel,
Thanks for sharing the details about your custom chat assistant setup. To help troubleshoot:
-
What exact calculation are you running when the assistant returns incorrect results?
-
Are all fields used in that calculation included in the visualizations of your published dashboard? If not, the agent might not access them correctly (at least from what I’ve seen).
-
One workaround: try creating a topic from your dataset (with all needed fields included), then point the chat assistant at the topic instead of the dashboard. This often gives the assistant access to more fields and improves accuracy.
Happy to dig deeper once we know more — let me know how it goes!
