Hello, everyone!
I need some help with a map visual. I have some geospatial data, three different postal codes in Sweden to be more specific and I want to create a map visual in QuickSight. I want to visualise number of rows for each of the three postal codes I have. I followed the instructions on the documentation troubleshooting geospatial data, created a hierarchy for the geospatial postal codes for only Sweden. I have tried both map visuals, points on map and filled map and they both give me the same error where none of the three post codes can be rendered. Can someone give some guidance on how to use the map visuals?
Hello @anasia, this is not the first time I have seen mention of issues with geospatial data for Sweden when utilizing postal codes. Do you have any data that you can map to the hierarchies between country and postcode? Something like city, county, or region? The mapping in QuickSight is unable to determine geospatial data solely with the country and the postcode so if more hierarchies can be added, it may resolve the errors you are experiencing.
Hello @anasia, this may be a bit of a stretch, but when I was looking up postal codes for Sweden, I saw that the format was 3 digits, followed by a space, then 2 more digits. Maybe it would work if you changed the formatting to match that.
Alternatively, if this doesn’t work or if you are not able to change the formatting, I would recommend filing a case with AWS Support where we can dive into the details so that we can help you further. Here are the steps to open a support case. If your company has someone who manages your AWS account, you might not have direct access to AWS Support and will need to raise an internal ticket to your IT team or whomever manages your AWS account. They should be able to open an AWS Support case on your behalf. Hope this helps!
Thank you for your help @DylanM!
I will try changing the format and if it doesn’t work too, I will contact support with the help of someone in my company.
