Hello Team , So my current default location in quicksight is frankfurt , i have 150 GB free usage in it. But I am working in central region with purchased usage. How to optimize it , like moving free usage to the central region , or changing default location to central so that i can use it anyway ??
Hello @adi1994 you might be able to do a data migration from the central region to the Frankfurt region. Using the Frankfurt region for historical data and the central region for real time data might be the best way to optimize it.
@DylanM - thanks for the response , here migrating data is what exactly it means , dataset in central region will move to Frankfurt region , then how the dashboard will work?
Can you share the link for this process?
Thanks
Hello @adi1994, I think I may have misunderstood the original question. Let me clarify to make sure. You have your original QuickSight account set to Frankfurt region which received 150GB of free usage. Then another QuickSight account was created in the central region which you now have purchased usage on it.
You are wanting to merge both of those accounts to regain the original 150GB of free usage on your new account, am I correct? I don’t believe this functionality currently exists, but I will dig into the information a little more and follow up.
hi @DylanM , so the account is same , but my DB region is central not frankfurt , so i have dataset created at central region anf maintaining it with the purchased storage , but in default i have free 150 gb in frankfurt region. I want to use that in central.
Please will be waiting for you reply.
Thanks
Hello @adi1994, based on the documentation regarding SPICE capacity provided by AWS, there does not seem to be any way to migrate the Free or purchased storage between regions. You can increase or reduce the amount in a region that you have purchased but that seems to be it. I can list this as a feature-request and archive this question for the time being.
If you have any other questions regarding QuickSight feel free to post a new question in the community so you can be on the top of our priority list for responses. Thank you!
