Error Message in Calculations

Hello,

I’ve created a dashboard and had it running now for a bit. But when I went into a calculated field and changed nothing, I receive this error at the bottom

“We encountered an error trying to save your calculated field. Please try creating it again.”

I’ve refreshed the page and seen that it will load the field make any changes (changes to test the error message) and it appears that it saves things. But the dashboard itself no longer updates unless I fully refresh the page.

What could be causing this?

Was the calculated field not operating correctly prior to you opening it? And it sounds like after refreshing, everything on the dashboard is operational still or is the calculated field not working now?

Sometimes there can be odd calc field saving bugs, like the one you mentioned receiving. I’ve encountered the error in the past and there was nothing in particular causing it..I exited out, then went back in and applied the same syntax and it started working again!

When you mention that the dashboard no longer updates unless refreshing the page, what isn’t updating?

Everything appears to be functioning. But I never get visual feedback that my calculated fields have correct syntax or that my visuals are refreshing.

This may just be a minor bug, I would say that if it continues to happen or starts effecting your visuals in some way, consider filing a support case to report the issue and get direct support on your account from the AWS support team.
