Exporting Quicksight report to csv

Hi

I am trying to export a dashboard to csv/xls. But there’s a limit of 1 Million rows.
Is there a way to increase this limit in QuickSight?

Thank you.

Hi @gopinathpc

No, QuickSight has a default hard limit of 500 MB or 1M rows whichever comes first for CSV exports, and this cannot be increased.

Note:
With a subscription to Paginated Reporting, you are able to schedule the export of visuals in CSV and Excel formats and export up to 3M rows (CSV) and 16M cells (Excel).

Workaround: You can apply a filter and exports data into different chunks.

Please refer to the below documentation this might be helpful for you.

Thanks for the response.
Do you know how much would the subscription to Paginated Reporting cost?

Hi @gopinathpc

Paginated Reporting monthly price ($500/month) is per Account.

Please refer to the below pricing documentation this might be helpful for you.

Hi @gopinathpc

There are many nuances related to how QuickSight calculates the Reporting Units.

We took up a 500$ monthly subscription and thought our simple requirements would be more or less covered in this commitment. But we are finding that we are crossing double the limit and have no clue why our Reporting Units are so much higher.

Currently, we have been engaging with experts on AWS QuickSight to try to make sense of the usage.

Since you say your remote is in millions of rows; this may be a very costly affair trying to get it done via Pixel-Perfect reporting. I would advise first engage with AWS and discuss your requirements about the data size, any row-level-filtering, frequency etc so they can help you calculate what would be the expected cost/reporting units and you can then decide whether this is the way to go.
