As a data analyst, I build dashboards for customers using QuickSight to analyze their data.
At the moment, I’m struggling with two questions for which I haven’t found an answer.
Similary to this guy question that I attached in the link below, I’m looking for a solution for hirarchy filter, I mean that I want to let my useres the option to apply filters as they want, by easily and senseble way, witch when they looking for one category, its autamaticly open the sub categories below this one, after that when the user chose sub category its open others sub categories and so on.
Instead he’ll set up categories separately, and there will be lots of filters that appear on the dashboard and catch a wide area…
The organization I work for uses SAP, so the Quicksight data must come from it. The thing is that in SAP the hierarchy is dynamic. It means that you can add a child or even a new dad at any time. This means there is no stick structure on which I might be able to build a filter. What should I do about this?
Hi @Noys ! Usually, when I have two filters linked in the same dashboard I use the option Edit and into the configuration pannel clic on Show relevant valute only (attached picture for support)
@javalillo13689 Thank you so much! I didn’t know about this. I find it really helpful!
Maybe you know if there is a menu that can be opened and closed so it won’t take up a lot of space in the controls? So only the “dad” will appear as filter and his sons will be in opens filter that opens only when necessary. for example, for : “continent” > “country” > “city”> “street”, I won’t have 4 separate filters that will catch a wide area on my “controls” and there will be something like that instead:
You can’t add navigation actions to controls, so you would not be able to create a navigation mapping from controls alone. There also is not a menu option for controls.
