I am trying to delete just one or two dashboards among the thousands of dashboards shared with my team and I. In this particular case, I am the OWNER of the dashboard in question.
I’ve tried searching for the dashboard, but when I click on the three vertical ellipses, delete is not an option.
I’ve tried opening the dashboard, then closing it. It then shows up on my Recents visual which configured to be on my Home screen. However, the three vertical ellipses do NOT appear, so I can’t delete it that way.
As an adminstrator, I have access to thousands of dashboards (we have been using QS for 7 years). Thus clicking on entry titled dashboards, and showing 100 dashboards at a time, seems to be a waste of my time.
Yes, I could use the CLI, and yes, I could mark it as a favorite, and then delete it that way.
But there’s got to be a simpler way through the GUI to delete a dashboard.
What am I overlooking.
That is definitely some interesting behavior. I published a test dashboard and was able to delete on my end. I also double checked to see if there was any other caveats and according to this documentation, you seem to be doing it right. I would definitely recommend creating a support ticket with AWS Support, as they may be able to see why this could be occurring on your account (whether there is a dashboard ownership reference issue, a bug/error, etc.).
Just checking back in since we haven’t heard from you in a bit. I wanted to see if the guidance shared earlier helped resolve your question, or if you found a solution in the meantime.
