Line Chart & Vertical Bar Chart (BUG?) - Inconsistent color used for legend when small multiples is used


Chart 1 is without Small Multiples to show summary. Chart 2 is with Small Multiples to show by country. However, the color for legend is different though the same field is used for “Group/Color”. Is this a bug of QuickSight?

Likewise for Line Chart.

“Edit field colors…” for Year will not work in long run as value will be dynamic and subject to changes.

This definitely seems to be a bit of a bug. I tested this out as well; after editing the field colors for the actual field being used in the color section, the colors did not change on my small multiples visual but did on the single:

Then, I went to the ‘Edit’ → ‘Themes’. Opened up one to edit, after opening, it reset the small multiples colors as well (didn’t actually change any of the theme settings or colors):

While not ideal, see if that work around works for you as well but I agree that this is an odd bug.

I am having different behaviour results.

  1. Edit field colors will change the color for both charts (with and without small multiples)
  2. Edit →Themes does not help.

Possible to get QuickSight team for a resolution?

Looking over your current 3 posts regarding small multiples, I agree that there seem to be some bugs going on with them. To get additional assistance from the QS support team and submit a bug, the best route to go about this would be to create a support ticket.

I will mention the same on your other post as each have to do with small multiples, I would suggest you include them all within one support ticket.

I am under Basic Support Plan and unable to log a support ticket.
Unlikely to upgrade the Plan as it may incur additional cost.

Is there other way to post the issue for attention and resolution?
