Maximum Column and Columns Display Limit for Quick Sight Table Visual with RDS Dataset

I am currently working with a Quick Sight dashboard that connects to an RDS dataset.

  1. What is the maximum number of columns that can be displayed in a table visual?
  2. What is the maximum number of rows that can be displayed in a table visual?
  3. Does this limit differ when the data source is specifically from RDS compared to other data sources?

Hi

Please see the below link of documentation might be help for you.

  • 100 columns max per table visual.
  • 100,000 rows max per table visual (with pagination).
  • These limits are the same regardless of whether the data comes from RDS or other sources.

thanks!

Additionally would like to check what is the maximum number of filter controls we can add to a single dashboard for table visual?

20 filter control can be added to a single dashboard.

Is it possible to set up an alert notification in Quick Sight when the data reaches 100,000 rows? I need to verify this as my table will contain more than 100,000 records.

Hi @siew_wen

Yes – you can do this with a Quick Sight threshold alert on a KPI visual that shows your row count.

In a analysis on your SPICE dataset, drag any field into the Value well. Quick Sight will auto-aggregate it (e.g. count({YourPrimaryKey})) to give you a total-rows KPI. Ensure your KPI is on a dashboard that’s shared with you (you need dashboard-subscriber permissions).

Create a threshold alert

  • Hover over the KPI, click the bell :bell: (Create alert) icon, and set:

    • Value to track: your row-count metric

    • Condition: “> 100,000”

    • Evaluation schedule, aligned with your SPICE refresh cadence (e.g. after each refresh)

  • Quick Sight will email you whenever the KPI crosses that threshold

Please refer to the below documentations this might be helpful for you.

Hi!

I have created a table view with total record count to count the records.

A screenshot of a computer AI-generated content may be incorrect.

Total count can be found in the export for excel.

But im not able to see the Total count in the export for csv format. Why is this so?
