I’m using Amazon Quick Sight with the pre-built “Cost and Usage Dashboard powered by Quick Sight ,” connected directly to AWS.
However, I noticed that user-defined cost allocation tags are not being exported or available in the dataset.
How can I enable these tags so they appear in the dataset, allowing me to create visualizations in Quick Sight using them?

Hi Deep,
From what I understand, it’s not possible to retrieve this value the way I’m currently doing it—by connecting directly to S3.
To access this information, I would need to set up the full architecture using Athena, correct?

HEllo Chris,
Yes, By introducing Athena and schedule crawler you make it automated and gets the data updated. you don’t have to export every time you need to the new data on cost and usage.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
