Preventing Filter Persistence in Dashboard

Hi,
Is there a way to ensure that the filter I applied in the dashboard does not get saved for the next time I access it and resets every time I enter?
( Mobile Dashboard)
Thanks in advance,
Noy

Hi!

Quicksight already does not save the filter for every session and it will reset every time that you open the dashboard. Let me know if your question applies to some specific case, otherwise here is the relevant documentation!

Hi!

Thanks a lot for your reply. First of all, I’m referring to the mobile dashboard, if that makes a difference.

Anyway, I checked what you mentioned – and actually, it does save the filter I apply. Could it be that you meant the filter doesn’t get saved across different sessions?

And if it’s the same session, the filter is indeed saved, right?
I’m looking for the filters not to be saved for the same session.

Thanks,
Noy

Thanks for the clarification! I see, within the same session, there is currently no method to auto-reset all filters for a dashboard (this also applies to mobile dashboards).

One workaround that might be useful is to create a reset parameter that you set as a control for a filter. So you would create a parameter and give it a default value → Add a control → Have it toggle between two options (Eg. 0/1) → Set filter properties based on this parameter…

This would be a long workaround to getting a button that resets all filters associated with the parameter! Let me know if you have further questions.

Hi,
It’s not exactly what I was hoping for, but it’s a good enough workaround!
Thank you so much for the detailed explanation and the information!

Creating a URL with the default link for your dashboard and placing it as a button might help. This would be like loading the default view.
