URL of Dashboard with filters reset as default

Hello guys,

When I share the link of a dashboard to people of my company, when they click on it, the dashboard will put back the filters they used during their previous visit of the dashboard.

Is there a way to make sure, in the URL or else, that when the user clicks on the link of the dashboard, all filters are automatically reset as default?

Thanks a lot!

Hi @Jimmydean

Dashboards has a “Reset” option in the toolbar, allowing users to revert all filters to their original settings.

In embedded dashboards, ensure that the “reset” toolbar option is enabled by setting it to true in the embedding configuration.

Hello bro,

Thanks for your answer, yes of course, obviously I know about that button.

It’s just we would like to use the URL to send the dashboard with filters by default using that URL. Without the user having to click that button

Hi @Jimmydean

Can you please try the dashboard link with the appended parameters, users will see the dashboard with filters set to their default values, regardless of any filters applied in previous sessions.

Example: (URL may vary based on your region and change the parameter and their default values)

https://us-east-2.quicksight.aws.amazon.com/sn/dashboards/abc123-abc1-abc2-abc3-abcdefef1234#p.shipdate=2018-09-30 08:01&p.city=New York&p.city=Seattle&p.teamMember=12&p.percentageRank=2.3

Please refer to the below documentation this might be helpful for you.

Hope this helps!

Hello, it would work if I had only parameters and not filters, and if I didn’t have 100 of them

For my case, doesn’t help

Hi @Jimmydean,

I apologize, but these are the current options available. To reset the filter in the dashboard, you can either use the “Reset” option in the toolbar or convert your filter to a parameter to pass the default value through the dashboard URL.

Hi @Jimmydean,
could bookmarks work as a workaround? User can set bookmarks for default parameter as well es for their setup.

Hey Erik!
