Problem with X-axis dates granularity

Hello,

I have a linear graph with two curves with daily granularity. However, in the X-axis of the graphical representation, the date is indeed displayed in daily format dd/mmm/yyyy but only the start dates of the month are represented.

I changed the orientation of the dates of the X-axis to vertical position as advised in some discussions but that doesn’t change anything. Could you help me find the solution please?

hi @mohamed_camara

Welcome to Quick Sight Community!

it appears to me that the X-axis configured with monthly granularity in visual setting.

hello Wakana, thank you for your response.

precisely, the X axis is configured with daily granularity in this
graph (see screenshot) which is what is surprising.

I saw in some threads that the problem could be due to the
fact that there are a lot of values in the date labels
and that in this case the horizontal orientation of the
X axis labels takes up too much space.
So I took care to set the orientation of the labels to 'vertical'
but that doesn't change anything.

Hey @mohamed_camara ,

Maybe you could provide some sample data. I can’t recreate the problem. Another issue I could imagine is if the date format within the dataset is recognized as MM/dd/yyyy; maybe that could also be the problem.

Hi Robert, the date column is called ‘chargeperioddate’:

I said dd/MM/yyy because it is the french display of MM/dd/yyyy

And do your two value fields also have missing data for those dates? If there are nulls, they wouldn’t be shown in the graph.

Hello Robert, I checked carefully and my two value fields do not
contain any empty or null values
