Quick Suite 'Something went wrong' error when accessing Manage AWS Resources despite comprehensive IAM permissions

I’m experiencing a persistent “Something went wrong - For more information see Set IAM policy” error when trying to access “Manage AWS resources” in Quick Suite.

What I’ve tried:

  • Deleted and recreated Quick Suite account
  • Created IAM service role with proper trust policy for quicksight.amazonaws.com
  • Added comprehensive IAM permissions to my user including:
    • quicksight:*
    • iam:CreateRole, GetRole, ListRoles, PassRole
    • s3:ListAllMyBuckets
    • athena:ListDataCatalogs, GetDataCatalog
    • [full policy attached]

Current situation:

  • Can access Quick Suite console
  • Can see Security & Permissions sections
  • Cannot click “Manage AWS resources” - gets error immediately
  • Cannot assign the IAM role I created for Quick Suite

Goal: Connect Quick Suite to Athena for data analysis

Region: [North Virginia]
Account type: [Enterprise]
