Quicksight Filter shows "Something Went wrong"

Hello all,

I see that everything is working fine with my visuals in the analysis, but the filter is displaying “Something Went Wrong”. I am unable to identify the cause of this issue. (fyi, filter is working as expected).

I have a Date parameter (attached is a snippet of its properties). I added the Date as a filter to my visual and applied this parameter to the filter. After selecting “Add control” and adding the filter to the sheet, I noticed the “Something Went Wrong” message appearing beneath it.

Has anyone encountered a similar issue and resolved it? If so, could you please let me know how you fixed it?

Hi @shravya

I tried re-producing your case but did not encounter the issue. Never seen this before as well.

So, must be a fluke. You may need to invovle the AWS guys to see what is happening behind the scene.

Hello @shravya, I agree with @Giridhar.Prabhu. I just went through the same steps as well to see if I could recreate a similar issue, but I didn’t have any luck. I need to get a new demo dataset that has current year dates, but I will link the Arena analysis I created to test this out:
Quicksight Filter shows “Something Went wrong”

I would recommend filing a case with AWS Support to get further assistance from the support team. If your company has someone who manages your AWS account, you might not have direct access to AWS Support and will need to raise an internal ticket to your IT team or whomever manages your AWS account. Here is where you can find the steps to submit a ticket:

Thank you @Giridhar.Prabhu and @WLS-DM.

Hey @WLS-DM - I see the issue in the analysis you have shared too

Please try to select “This Week” “Previous Week” - you will see the issue.

Hello @shravya, I see what you are talking about. I wasn’t sure if the error could be related to my dataset not having any data for the current or previous week, but then I noticed that this month doesn’t have the same issue.

This to me just seems like a bug. I noticed that it only seems to occur when you utilize a parameter in the relative date filter. A work-around for now could be removing that parameter from the filter. Otherwise, I think filing the support ticket will be your best bet to try and get this resolved. Thank you!
