QuickSight Folder-Level Access Limit – Unable to Add More Than 87 Users/Groups

Hello AWS Community,

We are facing a limitation while managing folder-level access in Amazon QuickSight, and we’d like guidance on how to handle or exceed this limit.

Issue Description:
While granting folder-level access in QuickSight, we are unable to add more than 87 users or groups to a single folder. When we try to add additional users or groups, we receive the following error:

“You can’t add any more people to this folder. Contact AWS Support to increase your quota.”

Our Use Case:

  • We have a large number of store-level and role-based users.
  • Access is managed using AWS Groups for better scalability.
  • Folder-level permissions are used to control report visibility.
  • Due to the growing number of users/groups, we are hitting this folder-sharing limit.

Hi @vishalbagad

Thank you for providing those details. While I couldn’t locate an exact quota limit documented publicly in AWS resources, the error message you’re seeing indicates a folder level sharing restriction.

The official Quick documentation on folder considerations can be found here. Considerations for Quick Sight folders - Amazon Quick Suite

The error message specifically recommends contacting AWS Support, who can review your account and potentially increase this quota particularly for enterprise scenarios like yours with numerous store level and role based AWS Groups. I suggest creating a support case here Case management - AWS Support. They’ll be best positioned to assist.
