Hi Team, I have built a dashboard where I want to how many users are using it and insights around users usage of the dashboard ?
Do we have a feature for this ?
Any help would be great.
Thanks,
Parth
Hi @parthprj
To monitor user engagement with your QuickSight dashboard, you can utilize AWS CloudTrail to log and analyze user activities.
Please refer to the below documentation this might be helpful for you.
Hi,
Do we need AWS account for cloud trail? Since my team is a non tech team, we donāt have an aws account.
Hi @parthprj
Yes, you need AWS CloudTrail, which is a service provided by AWS and requires an AWS account to set up and use. You donāt need to sign up for a new AWS account; you just need to set up CloudTrail with your existing one.
Contact your organization admin or technical team to set up CloudTrail logs. Using this link, you can easily implement it with the āLaunch Stackā option along with the required configuration details. This will help you effectively track and analyze user interactions with your QuickSight Admin Monitoring dashboard.
Enabling AWS CloudTrail, ensures CloudTrail is active in your AWS account to capture QuickSight events.
Configure CloudTrail Logging:
- Set up a trail to deliver log files to an Amazon S3 bucket.
- CloudTrail is enabled by default, but you may need to create a trail to deliver logs to an S3 bucket.
If you want to see when a user was last active in QuickSight, you can find the āLast activeā timestamp by navigating to Manage QuickSight > Manage Users.
Please refer to the below documentation this might be helpful for you.
