Redshift column missing in Quicksight

I did alter the table(Added a new column)in my redshift after the dataset is imported in Quicksight.And I expected the new field to be pulled in directly to the analysis but it does not populate.Can someone guide me on this?
Notes: I am using Direct Query mode while importing the dataset

I have seen this happening with different datasources. I think you just need to edit the dataset and save it again (without making any changes). Supposedly when you open the dataset for editing Quicksight refreshes the columns from the underlying tables and only then is it available in your analyses.

Second what @darcoli said, this will resolve if you edit and then save the dataset. You can also recreate the dataset.
