I have created a dashboard and embedded in a Product. The datasets are created using S3 data source ( CSV files are placed in S3 ).
One think I noticed on the dashboard. If I do not change any selection criteria on the dashboard,
it still refreshed on me every so many seconds, flashing screen out and in. Is this standard behavior or can we change refresh rate
as it is distracting when looking and analyzing data, when the whole screen flashes and the whole page refreshes.
Also when it refreshes it reverts to default filters which is really not desired.
So either we need to decrease refresh rate, all get rid of refresh altogether.
There has to be a way to hold refresh, otherwise this is very distracting when someone
wants to spend some time analyzing data on the page per filters they selected.
@duncan, I am using SPICE method ( Getting data from S3 as CSV files ).
So, is there anu option to reduce the refresh rate of the dashboard or there is no such thing? .
if it is Direct Query, is this effect will be in the dashboard?
Would you pls give any relevant links? so that i will give an answer to my clients.
Direct Query means that every time you load the dashboard, trigger a filter, or refresh the browser, etc… it will trigger the dataset query.
Here’s a blog about using SPICE and Direct Query:
Again, based on your description this doesn’t sound like a QuickSight issue specifically. The other problem could be if you are embedding and something in your deployment is trigger a constant refresh.
