Would be a good feature to be able to dynamically change the Filter values based on the Visual selections on a particular field.
Hello @VNair , welcome to the Quicksight community!
What is your end goal with that functionality?
Depending on your use case you could use hierarchy drill downs or navigation actions to focus on that specific value.
The user wishes to see only those values, from the selected category, in the dropdown. This particular filter-value should only have values for the selected category. The same functionality we have for when we use Relevant values from a control. The user wants this functionality just clicking on any visuals, not using the control.
Hey @VNair ,
Is the “Focus On” aspect of the visual not enough? You can add hierarchies for drill downs to show values within a specific category. For example, below I added customers to the hierarchy drill down under product. That way if I click on “Support” product in the visual it shows me only customers associated with Support:
Appreciate the response. But my use case is not related to showing in a visual. It is to dynamically change values in the dropdown ‘Filter’. When the selection from a visual is made, it should alter the filter values accordingly. The same functionality we see for Control relevant filtered values. But instead of control, it is a Visual selection.
Hi @VNair
