Sign in to Amazon Quick desktop app with IAM user/role

I have a couple of different Quick accounts and access these with one IAM role, or actually it is an AssumeRole from a central AWS account. I am a Quick admin in all these accounts. When I sign in to Quick on web, it let’s me choose the account from a list. It sees my IAM user has access to each of them apparently.

Now I want to see the Quick desktop app in action. When I sign in, two options:

  1. Continue with SSO = which we don’t use.
  2. Continue with email address = which doesn’t seem to work for IAM users either.

Am I right? How can I use the Quick desktop app in this setup?

Hi @ivoatappetence,

Welcome to the Quick Community! After looking into some of the current sign-in documentation, this does indeed seem to be a current limitation of the desktop app. In terms of working around these sign-in options, I would recommend adding IAM Identity Center alongside your current IAM setup, which will allow you to sign in with the SSO option. Although not as clean as your current AssumeRole setup, this will allow you to utilize all accounts on the desktop app.

Feel free to let me know if you have any other questions!
