SPICE used capacity doesn't change while deleting data-sets

Hi team

We’ve realised that SPICE used capacity doesn’t change when i disconnected/deleted all data sets which were using SPICE previously

When looking at SPICE management space, i do not see the button to release unused capacity
Any thoughs what could happen or where this capacity might be stuck?

Hello @AndriyShepel

How long has t been since you deleted the datasets vs when you checked the SPICE capacity? Unfortunately, it can take time for the SPICE capacity to actually reflect that the datasets are gone:

(These links are both roughly a year old, but I still haven’t seen updates from AWS on this)

It’s been already a full day i am waiting, nothing changes so far
So checked all the options, the SPICE remains at the full used capacity (even more, not sure, how it’s possible). Is there a way to hard-reset the space? I am using the direct queries only

@AndriyShepel ,

The datasets which you are able to access are either created by you or have been shared with you. If you have authors in your Quick Sight account who can create their own datasets and ingest data into SPICE, have not shared those datasets with you, you will not be able to view/access them.

If you are an Admin, check using Manage Assets to find additional datasets owned by another Author.

If you are the only user in your Quick Sight account, then log a support ticket for further assistance.

Kind regards,
Koushik

Hey @AndriyShepel

If you are the owner of those datasets/no one else has made them, I would recommend making a support ticket with AWS if the SPICE capacity hasn’t been freed up yet.

Here are the steps to open a support case. If your company has someone who manages your AWS account, you might not have direct access to AWS Support and will need to raise an internal ticket to your IT team or whomever manages your AWS account. They should be able to open an AWS Support case on your behalf.

Hi @AndriyShepel,
It’s been awhile since we last heard from you on this thread, did you have any additional questions or were you able to find a work around for your case?

If we do not hear back within the next 3 business days, I’ll close out this topic.

Thank you!
