Switch from SPICE to DIRECT QUERY

Hi all,

My SPICE capacity is very low atm. Will switch from SPICE to DIRECT QUERY automatically reduce the SPICE usage thus have more capacity or I need to delete the dataset and recreate?

Hi @Leon ,
as you remove a SPICE dataset your capacity should increase.

I have removed the SPICE datasets but it doesn’t seem to reduce the SPICE capacity at all. Is it because it will take some time to release the datasets?

Once the change is complete, the used SPICE capacity should reduce which is different to the total SPICE capacity.

If there is no change , open a support case. If your company has someone who manages your AWS account, you might not have direct access to AWS Support and will need to raise an internal ticket to your IT team or whomever manages your AWS account. They should be able to open an AWS Support case on your behalf. Hope this helps!
