Tables not being listed when creating a Dataset

When attempting to create an Athena Dataset, I choose my catalog but no tables are listed. However, when viewing my Athena data in the AWS Console, with the same IAM Role, I can see the database and the tables that I expect. I’m also able to query the tables and retrieve data. I’ve attempted to change the Quicksight Admin role and give it the correct Data lake permissions, but there was no change in outcome.

Hi @aupernel

Welcome to QuickSight Community .

Could you please check the Athena connections are authorised in QuickSight as mentioned in the documentation .

Thanks
Vinod

Yes, sorry, I forgot to mention that as well. I have ensured that both S3 and Athena are setup with the permissions required to be able to see the tables. I have even tried disabling and re-enabling with no change.

Thank you for letting us know. I would recommend filing a case with AWS Support where we can dive into the details so that we can help you further. Here are the steps to open a support case. If your company has someone who manages your AWS account, you might not have direct access to AWS Support and will need to raise an internal ticket to your IT team or whomever manages your AWS account. They should be able to open an AWS Support case on your behalf. Hope this helps!
