I am trying to create a threshold alert for a column
However i have to set alert for each cell individually .
Is there any way to do this for the whole column .
In the example here , each record is for each client . If I want to send an alert if it is 1 for any of the client , how do I do it ?
Hi @liya101,
There’s no way to setup an alert on an entire column so you’ll have to consider a work around. My suggestion would be to create a calculated field that takes the max of your same dimensions, that way if one client shows a 1, that’s what you’ll receive as your max. Now you can use that field for your threshold alert, how you’d like to include it in your analysis would be up to you based on how the rest of your sheet design is laid out.
My suggestion to have it hidden away; use your max calculation in a KPI visual, go through and publish so that you can setup your alert. Then once the alert has been created, you can go back to your analysis and hide the visual and then republish (you’ll need to use free-form to hide the visual). You can either try hiding by default under the rules section of the visual properties or you can hide the title, change font color to match background and hide the options under card style:
If using tiled or classic layout for your sheet, you could try adding the max calculation as another column in your table visual; then publish and setup alert, then head back to your analysis and hide that column and republish. I haven’t tested this out but I don’t see why it shouldn’t work as well.
Let me know if you have any questions or if this works as a viable work around for your case.
Hi @liya101,
